Portugal, wake campBook

Wake camp is located in southern Portugal – a small, whitewashed and welcoming village called Santa Clara a Velha. It's far away from the city bustle and noise. Here you can enjoy the wild nature of Portugal. Mountains, eucalyptus and cork tree forests and one of Europe’s largest man-made lakes (covering 1,986 hectares) are what the little village is proud of.

If you feel like some night life, Lagos, Odeceixe and Faro can spin you till the morning.

Have fun and party on the boat while you learn to wakeboard, surfing trips to the ocean, BBQ evenings by the pool with open-air movies, romantic dinners at beach restaurants will all become part of your everyday life.

The housing is in a traditional Portuguese home originally built back in 1869, but recently rebuilt into a comfortable guest house complex with a special touch.

Each little guest house available for accommodation has two bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen and two WC’s. If you need to handle some everyday business, a WiFi hotspot is also available.

In the kitchen you’ll be able to make yourself a meal and chill your drinks. In the yard on the BBQ you can grill your favourite dish, work on your tan, cool off from the hot sun in the big pool or play with the kids in the small children’s pool. You can also practice your new tricks on the trampoline.

The three closest airports: Faro – 90 km, Lisbon – 200 km, Seville (Spain) – 280 km.

The fastest, closest and usually cheapest route goes via Faro. Hire a car at the airport (better book in advance, car hire from 70 EUR per week), stop by Forum Algarve or any other supermarket in Faro to stock up on some food and any other needs and get on the road. Set your GPS navigation (which you should bring from home) to Santa Clara A Velha and cruise over to the camp. Jurney takes about an hour.

From Lisbon the drive takes almost three hours and cross a toll road. The toll will costs 16 EUR each way from Lisbon to the village.

From Seville the drive to the village is three hours, the road is very good. When hiring a car take note that you will be crossing from Spain to Portugal – some companies charge extra for that.
